Founder Desmond (Dez) Clark has leveraged his 13-year National Football League career to give back to others.Dez came from a broken home, with divorced parents and a drug-addicted Father. His Mother did her best to raise him and his three brothers on her own, but it was Dez' mentors and coaches throughout his childhood that really made him a success story. “I was fortunate as a youth, teenager and young adult to have a group of men, coaches, who took me ‘under their wing.’ As a kid, not only did these role models teach me about sports, but they made my participation in sports possible by picking me and dropping me off when mom couldn’t and giving me worldly advice to get me through the tough times, and doing so much more.” That is the passion and mission behind 88 Wayz Youth Organization.
“I have a passion for helping people, especially kids. I play football for a living but I don't define myself by what I do for a living but how much good I can do for my fellow man. Sometimes it costs us nothing to help someone, so why not. Things are not for getting, they are for giving.” - Dez Clark
