About this Course: This course is designed for developers responsible for the design, development, and integration of applications that use Progress OpenEdge. This course teaches students best practices for designing and developing an application using OpenEdge Reference Architecture (OERA).
Course Prerequisites: Since this course is intended for developers, it is assumed that you already have experience programming in a high-level language such as Basic, C#, Java. You will be developing and testing an application from scratch in this course using OpenEdge tools so you should understand basic development steps for a high-level language. In addition, you will be starting and stopping services and programs in a Windows environment so you should be familiar with this environment.
In addition, you must have a basic understand of the Progress OpenEdge process architecture and OpenEdge Reference Architecture (OERA). These topics are covered in the course, Introduction to Progress OpenEdge.
Laptop Requirements: All students are required to bring a laptop with wired or wireless networking capability to run class exercises. Access to labs on servers and courseware are provided. However, equipment will not be provided for student activities.
