DeveloperWeek 2013 Hackathon!
Friday, February 1, 2013 at 6:00 PM - Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM (PST)
San Francisco, CA
The DeveloperWeek Hackathon is a 28-hour app-building contest in downtown San Francisco - and is also the official kick-off of DeveloperWeek 2013! The purpose of the hackathon is to give developers, designers, and entrepreneurs the chance to pitch app ideas - form teams - build a prototype of their app - and present to our hackathon judges for a chance to be one of the top 5 hackathon winners who get “incubated” during DeveloperWeek.
DeveloperWeek is unlike any other SF hackathon because the top 5 hackathon winners will get 4 days of coaching, 4 days of legal and design services, and free tech tools to help ‘incubate’ their app into a viable startup company by the last day of DeveloperWeek. These 5 hackathon winners then compete again on-stage on Thursday February 7th of DeveloperWeek so our community can help launch your startup!
How can I get involved?
If you already have a team and you know what you want to build, we recommend you complete our scholarship application. The top 25 accepted teams get a free DeveloperWeek Pro Pass! (we will refund your tickets if you buy a ticket but later qualify)
If you do not yet have a team or a solid idea yet then register below Note- if you already have a DeveloperWeek Pass- you do not need to buy a DeveloperWeek Hackathon ticket.
Here are the hackathon rules:
- You can prepare wireframes, outlines, or notes but you cannot start any of your design or development until February 1st at 6 PM!
- Teams must consist of at least 1 person but at max 5 people
- Your team and your app will be judged based on 3 criteria: 1) Are you solving a real problem in an interesting way? 2) How well did you present? 3) How much progress did you make on your app?
- If you build using a sponsor’s technology then you are also eligible for the sponsor prize!
