Event Details

The assessment of your students’ work, using a uniform set of rubrics or scoring guides, will allow you to judge the progress of your students by a set of criteria based on statewide and national standards for achievement in social studies.  Authentic assessments of social studies are designed to give students differentiated opportunities to use higher order thinking, employ knowledge learned in-depth, participate in substantive conversation, and make connections to the world beyond the classroom. In this session, CMs will learn how to identify and develop tasks for conducting investigations, group discussions, and demonstrating knowledge/skill of global citizens.  CMs will learn how to lead students to mastery on authentic assessment tasks covering seven standards for assessments. This session will also include a discussion of grading strategies and parent communication.
