Event Details

Design is a trending topic across the start-up industry and designers are playing a critical role in the company creation process. Founders want it, engineers want to do it, UX gurus are growing exponentially on LinkedIn and even venture capitalists know the difference between Fireworks and Photoshop.

In an ongoing effort to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in New York City, First Round Capital and IDEO are partnering to a host a series of focused and practical discussions on how to unleash the power of design for startups and entrepreneurship. The first session will focus on the challenges of designing for consumer engagement online, offline and in mobile environments.

The Design + Start-Up series is focused on the practice of design in the start-up industry. These talks will be lead by practitioners with the goal of presenting a specific point of view and sharing tactical, actionable advice for designers and entrepreneurs leading design driven companies.

Speakers include:

Buzz Anderson -Director of Mobile, Tumblr

Tim Riley -Director of Online Experience at Warby Parker

Geoffrey Brown - Interaction Design Lead, IDEO

Dario Buzzini - Design Director, IDEO

Dom Goodrum - Design Lead, Percolate

We hope you will join us for some food, drinks and a great night focused on Design + Start-Up
