Update: Did you see this great NPR article "With Growth of 'Hacker Scouting," More Kids Learn to Tinker." During this badge design class we'll discuss forming a Hacker Scouts tribe in Los Angeles.
In addition to being an excellent instructor, Doris designed all of the badges for the Youth Hack Jam last summer and we can't wait to learn how to come up with ideas and apply design principles to create oustanding awards.
We'll learn how to store our badges digitally using Mozilla's Open Badge Backpack, so you can show them off on your website or resume.
This class is limited to 25 participants.
- Age is dependent on ability to use a laptop and participate in class for 2+ hours
- Design Tool - We plan to use a free tool that anyone can install, but if you already have Illustrator or Photoshop then all the better.
* We are hoping that some of you are willing to work on an LA Makerspace Member Badge that we will use to create stickers and buttons!
