Denmark Knows Water: A Symposium - CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EST)
Join us for a reception and symposium celebrating the work of Corcoran College of Art + Design graduate students commissioned by the Embassy of Denmark for its annual Creative Christmas even, which this year will focus on WATER. As the United Nations declared 2013 the Year of Water Cooperation and the world faces a dire water shortage, this symposium will highlight the installation designed by the Corcoran team and prominent speakers on Denmark's knowledge of water management. With over 400 islands and a coastline that is longer than the distance from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles, Denmark has a unique understanding of the importance of water and insight into what it means to live on water. More information about Creative Christmas and the symposium can be found at www.usa.um.dk and on twitter: @DenmarkinUSA
10 a.m.: Coffee and pastries in the North Atrium
10:30 a.m. - noon: Symposium featuring Corcoran students and representatives from the Embassy of Denmark in the Frances & Armand Hammer Auditorium
