Tactical Training Associates is announcing another "Defending Your Castle" Home Defense Firearms Course to be held at a private range in Morgan Hill. It is a full 8 hour class with an hour for lunch- a longer class than most others. The Defending Your Castle class will incorporate information on how to set up your home to provide the most security as well as pistol and long gun techniques to defend yourself and your family against armed intruders. This class will begin in the afternoon and run into the night and will incorporate low light shooting techniques including shooting with a flashlight.
This will be a fast paced course and will include basic room clearing, tactical movement and shooting around barricades such as corners in your home. Weapon selection, ammunition selection, structure protection, and legal issues will be discussed. We will demonstrate effects of various projectiles on building materials found in the home. This class will run from 2:00 untill 11:00 pm and will cost $200. It is on a private, concrete range in Morgan Hill.
*In order to attend the Defending Your Castle class, you must have successfully completed a level 1 course- in the firearm you wish to bring- from us or an equivalent/ reputable instructor that we can verify.*
We have pistols and shotguns to rent for classes. With a rental, we include all requisite gear; holsters, magazines, magazine pouches, slings. All day rental of a firearm is an additional $50. This is on a first claimed, first served basis and we do sell out. An email requesting to reserve rental gear will suffice. WE DO NOT SELL OR FURNISH AMMUNITION.
If you bring a Carbine or Pistol, 150 rounds of quality ammunition will be plenty. You will need at least 2 magazines for said pistol or carbine, but more are always better. If you will run a Shotgun, you will need 75 rounds of birdshot, and 25 rounds of Buck. You will NEED a light. We will be shooting in the dark. You must bring either a handheld or weapon mounted light, however you will run it at home. We will cover low light techniques, so even with a weapon mounted light, a handheld tac light is still a good idea to train with.
