Deescalation of Behaviors
Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Jeremy Fowler will be presenting a small section of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training, which is a training that helps staff deal with escalating students in a “best practices” manner. Participants will take a look at the model used to identify a student’s behavior level, and then match corresponding staff approaches/interventions. Participants will learn about their own nonverbal communication which may contribute to escalate or de-escalate a given situation. Additionally, staff will have a chance to take an in-depth look at limit setting for verbal and non-verbal students.
