Event Details

Join us at the Jefferson Hotel to meet the parents of Decoding Dyslexia Virginia as they introduce the grassroots movement for raising awareness about dyslexia that is taking place across our country.

Nancy Nix of Lexington, VA, a dyslexia consultant as well as the parent of a dyslexic, will be speaking about this unique learning difference and how DDVA is helping our children.

Doug Sprei with Learning Ally will be on hand to provide valuable information.  Learning Ally is a non-profit group that provides audiobooks and textbooks to students with learning disabilities.  Join us, and learn more!

There will also be time before and after the presentation to chat with parents and educators.  Come learn about what is being done, what needs to be done, and how you can get involved!

Doors open at 6:00pm; presentation to begin at 6:30pm

Parking will be provided by the Jefferson in the Main Street parking lot.

DDVA

We are a grassroots movement driven by VA families focused on providing resources, support and educational interventions for dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We aim to raise dyslexia awareness, empower families to support their children and inform policy-makers on best practices to identify, remediate and support students with dyslexia in Virginia.
