Atlanta Premiere Screening
SHOW RESCHEDULED: DATE/VENUE TBA
SUPERHEROES (2011, 82 min. dir. Michael Barnett)
Full of surprises, the film uncovers a collection of passionate activists who assume alter-egos, don costumes, and serve their community in a stunning variety of ways, from patrolling the streets (like a more fashionable brand of Guardian Angel) to providing advocacy services for the homeless (like Atlanta’s own Crimson Fist and Metadata.) More than a collection of obsessive hobbyists, the real-life Superheroes have fast become an international movement.
At its World Premiere at the 2011 Slamdance Film Festival, SUPERHEROES was hailed “unquestionably the highlight” of the festival by IndieWIRE, and has been a sensation at every festival appearance since.
In Person: Atlanta's Real Life Superheroes, homeless advocates The Crimson Fist & Metadata have been invited.
