***OK! How can I participate?

Join us and play golf. Each golfer who participates in the Debutantes & Mirror Program Golf Fundraiser will be requested to do three things:

  •          Give-A-Day & Play (Bring your clubs & have fun)
  •          Sponsor yourself for at least $50 
  •          Challenge your business associates and friends with a goal of raising an additional $1000 per team for this worthwhile cause. 

*** It is not necessary for the Event Golfer to collect donor contributions directly. Donors (Sponsors) can contribute directly online to sponsor an Event Golfer through EventBrite.com

 

The Debutantes & Mirror Program is a part of Acts Full Gospel Church and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

 

What if I don’t play golf but want to attend the events?

Become an EVENT SUPPORTER! You are welcome to attend and help raise funds! A fifty dollar ticket donation will reserve your seat for the Awards Banquet and allow you to play other games and compete for prizes while the golfers are competing! Be an advocate for the cause and seek sponsors. Challenge your business associates and friends with a goal of raising an additional $1000 for this worthwhile cause. 

 

 

What is the Golf Tournament Fundraiser?

It is an incredibly fun event, which will raise some serious bucks for Debutantes & Mirror Program. It is a way for golfers, both duffer and low handicapper alike, to rally & support while doing something they will really enjoy - playing golf.

 

Here's the Fun Part

Yes, you will play 18 holes with a team of 4 Event Golfers. You get to “warm-up” prior to the event with a free token for range balls. Bring your own bag and clubs. Wear your best golfing attire. (LTGC is a soft-spike-only facility. Metal spikes or baseball cleats are not permitted).

  •          2-seat power cart are provided for golfers
  •          Each team of 4 Event Golfers plays no more than 15 minutes per hole
  •          We play "ready golf" with a maximum field of 144 golfers
  •          Longest Drive and Closest-to-Pin contests all-day long

 

What's In It for Me?

Besides a lot of fun and the satisfaction of helping The Debutantes & Mirror Program in a big way, you will receive...

  •   Refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day.
  •   Awards Banquet after golf event.
  •   The opportunity to earn some great prizes, while supporting a good cause and having fun.

The Debutantes & Mirror Program Golf Tournament Fundraiser will be played on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch, CA. This golf event will give you a very rare opportunity to play and compete with other community leaders and support a great cause. Our day's agenda will be something like this...

  •   Registration (Sign-In, Release forms, Token)
  •   Warm-Up & Pictures
  •   Shotgun start at 1pm
  •   Awards Banquet: Prize Giveaways, Recognize Contest Winners and Socialize.
  •   Go home.  Smile a lot - you've done a great thing today!

Yes!  All participants who acquire sponsorship donations equal to or greater than our requested $1000 or more can win one of the following...

  •   “Title of MVP”
  •   Award Recognition
  •   Shirt
  •   Gift Card

Additional prizes - Trip / Gift Cards / Gift Baskets and Cash Prizes will be given based on category and ranking.  During Awards Banquet for:

  •   “Longest Drive”

The Debutante Mirror Program

“Empowerment and Excellence through Sisterhood and Brotherhood Service”

 

Who are we?

 

The Debutantes and Mirror Program is a non-profit 501(c) (3) outreach group established to advocate for youth aged 9-19 years old within our local community towards becoming successful leaders in charge of their destiny. 

Our mandate is to ensure that our youth receive positive life changing experiences by participating in a variety of culturally enriching events that promote an appreciation for diversity, how to create and live a healthier lifestyle.

 Our emphasis is on nutrition, healthier living for the body and mind, promoting an understanding of the importance of education as a primary vehicle toward business ownership.

The Debutantes and Mirror Program is structured around events and activities that integrate their personal experiences, and looks at their interactions in the world through a restorative justice model. 

The program offers activities and events to the young women and men throughout the year integrating the categories of: Giving, Culture, Community Involvement, Motivation, Success and Rewards as well and preparing them for internships, and higher learning.

Giving-Volunteering with Shelters, Hospitals and Convalescent Homes, Liberia Day -Save African’s Children through the “Shoe Box” Program, which fills boxes with clothing, shoes and toiletries to send to Liberia and Alameda County Shelters.

Culture –Excursions to Museum of African Diaspora and attending a Ballet Performance. (Last year one of the young ladies had the opportunity to perform)

Internships/Higher learning/Employment - Visiting local colleges, understanding college (majors) degrees; attending workshops on “How to Make Your Resume Stand Out.” Ongoing submission and evaluation of our youth's attendance, grades and accomplishments for recognition and gifts.
