“John Brown’s body lies a-mouldering in the grave.”
Presented by Kelly Strayhorn Theater
Choreographer Dean Moss’sjohnbrown is an interdisciplinary performance project that meditates on the legacy of the 19th century white abolitionist John Brown. Through a series of emotionally precise segments, the work draws unexpected parallels to the radical activist and questions not only his controversial legacy, but also the generational processes at play in the inquiry.
During his week at KST, Dean Moss will work closely with five to eight Pittsburgh teenagers on the production elements of the performance in preparation for its premiere this fall at The Kitchen in New York City. Interested teenagers should contact Community Engagement Specialist, Desiree Lee, at 412-363-300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
