7:30pm - Lisa Richardson '86 speaks on "Transportation: Catalyzing Change in Los Angeles"
Ms Richardson's remarks will be followed by a Q&A with Ms. Richardson and colleagues of hers in the LA County Supervisor's Office, who focus on the issue of public transportation in Los Angeles.
Conclusion of the Q&A will be followed by the DCLA Annual Meeting, including election of officers and at-large board members to the 2014-2015 Board of Directors for the Dartmouth Club of Los Angeles
Lisa Richardson '86, currently serving as Senior Deputy for Communications to LA County Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas, is an accomplished communications professional whose 24-year career includes 18 years as a journalist with the Los Angeles Times, departing as a member of the Editorial Board.
She has covered education, social services, health care, immigration and written award-winning work on race relations. She also has helped nonprofit organizations, community groups and underrepresented voices gain access to the newspaper by shepherding opinion pieces and letters to publication. A native of Boston, Mass. Lisa received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Dartmouth College, and studied Spanish art, politics and literature at the University of Granada and the University of Salamanca.
