Join us for our first do-good event; volunteering for dinner service at Miriam's Kitchen on January 29, 2010.
We are planning to meet at Miriam's Kitchen at 3:50 pm to help prepare food for dinner services for at least 200 homeless men and women for the the shift from 4-6:30. We will be working in the kitchen as a team. See you soon!
Once you have signed up with us we will work with Miriam's Kitchen to sign everyone up using their system.
P.S. It would be really great if you could also bring an item on their in-kind list.
|When:||Friday, January 29, 2010. 4-6:30 pm|
|Where:||Miriam's Kitchen, 2401 Virginia Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20037|
|Metro:||Foggy Bottom Metro|
|What:||Volunteering for dinner service at Miriam's Kitchen|
|Why:||To give back to our community|
|Open to all|
The event is open all "foodies". We think that if you like to eat, like to learn about food and/or like to talk about food, you are a "foodie". Come meet some new people, learn about olive oil and how you can give back to your community!
|Cause: Miriam's Kitchen|
Miriam's Kitchen was founded in 1983 by a collaboration of The George Washington University Hillel Student Association, Western Presbyterian Church and United Church in response to an urgent need for services for the homeless in Washington, DC.
