Day of Opportunity
Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM (PDT)
The Day of Opportunity is a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington and an opportunity for us to set a new Civil Rights agenda for family and youth around five main areas: Education, Economics, Health, Social Justice and Civic Engagement.
Education: Every child receives educational opportunities that prepare them for the 21st Century
Economics: Create opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy that reduce unemployment and create financial stability
Health: Every family receives healthcare coverage for stronger families
Social Justice: Every Individual has equal status before the law without prejudice or profiling
Civic Engagement: Every individual of voting age has access to the ballot without intimidation or statutes that circumvent their rights
