David Pinto is a Peruvian native best-known for his work as music director, arranger, and bassist for Grammy-winner Susana Baca, Diva of Afro-Peruvian music. Formerly member of Peru Jazz, a group highly praised for their innovation and fusion of Peruvian roots and jazz.
Afro-Peruvian singer Marina Lavalle, former Peru Negro Lead vocalist, is one of the most distinctive performers in the Bay Area and one of the great voices of modern Peruvian music. An important figure in the resurgence of Afro-Peruvian music, Marina Lavalle nurtures a carefully crafted blend of contemporary and traditional sounds.
Pedro Rosales is a Peruvian Cajon Player & Singer, Co-Director of De Rompe y Raja Cultural Association, and DIrector of the Afro-Peruvian Band Proyecto Lando. He has been very active on the Afro-Peruvian Movement in The San Francisco Bay Area for the last 20 years.

La Peña is a community cultural center with a national reputation and a global vision that promotes peace, social justice and cultural understanding through the arts, education and social action.
As a welcoming gathering place, La Peña provides opportunities for artists to share diverse cultural traditions, to create and perform their work, and to support and interface with diverse social movements.
Annually, La Peña presents over 200 events with emerging and established artists; organizes an arts education program; produces new works by local artists, presents internationally and nationally renowned artists, and houses a Latin American cafe which complements the organization's mission.
