You’re invited to the Graduate NYC! Best Practices Data Forum entitled "Using Data to Inform Programs & Drive Student Outcomes" on Tuesday, April 1st from 9:00 – 11:45AM! Graduate NYC! hosts Community Best Practices Forums to provide opportunities to learn more about the latest research and share best practices in college readiness and success with other practitioners.
Conversations about data are permeating every part of education these days from instruction to standardized tests and school choice and more. Yet many practioners are often overwhelmed with how to truly use data to improve student outcomes. Through this Data Forum we seek to address how to use data to get traction, inform programs and drive student outcomes. The forum will also touch on the responsibility and respect that comes along with collecting student data.
Sean P. Corcoran, PhD, an associate professor of educational economics at NYU's Steinhardt, and an affiliated faculty of the NYU Wagner School of Public Service and NYU Institute for Education and Social Policy, will be the research speaker for this forum. Dr. Corcoran is the author of numerous journal articles, book chapters and policy briefs focusing on school choice, the impact of income inequality, school financing, teacher quality and effectiveness, as well as education reform.
Dr. Corcoran will also moderate a panel featuring local organizations who will share best practices and models of success using data responsibly to drive programs focused on college access and success.
