Jeffrey Castiglione and I are bringing Daniil out for his first visit to the West Coast. Yes, Mikhail's son will be here for two fun-filled, fascinating days.
In addition to your attendance, I am personally asking for your help in promoting this to the widest possible audience. Martial artists, police, military, emergency services, curious firends and co-workers- it's all good! If everyone just tells a couple of people about the seminar it will help a lot!
We'll be training indoors at the Tosetti Institute (where Jerry Gerald Coghlan and I teach every Wednesday and Saturday) located right off of Highway 101 near Woodside Road in Redwood City, California. By Bay Area standards, this is very centrally located. It's about 20 minutes away from both the San Francisco and San Jose airports, 30 minutes south of San Francisco and in between the San Mateo and Dumbarton bridges.
The facility has about 4,000 square feet of matted space so there will be plenty of room for everyone.
Seminar fee is $170.00 for both days. There is no early registration. There is no one day price option. You can purchase in advance here on Eventbrite (there is a service fee) or pay cash (and cash only) at the door. If you choose to pay cash please arrive early as we start training promptly at 10:00.
The hours will be 10 to 5 both days. Arrive early to stretch, sign the release, pay up, etc. Sunday may start a little later (and go a little longer, of course) than Saturday. I'll let everyone know if that changes.
Local hotels- Include anything by the SFO or San Jose airports, because of Oracle there are several hotels in the Belmont and San Carlos area right off of Highway 101 or you can google Redwood City Hotel if you want to try to get real close to the school.
Food- There is a convenience store around the corner and regular grocery stores within a five minute drive. I highly recommend bringing snack-type food as we will probably just take little breaks and then keep forging on. I will provide bottled water and fruit.
Training Gear- Bring whatever training weapons make you happy; maybe Daniil will smack you with 'em! Please, no live/sharp weapons without prior clearance through Jeff or me. At minimum, bring a training knife and a walking stick type piece of wood, please.
Group Dinner- Harry's Hofbrau in Redwood City (not far from Tosetti's) on Saturday night after the training. I've already reserved their banquet room. It hold 40 people so anything above that will just flow into the rest of the place. With "hofbrau" in the name you can probably guess that it's fine to just show up right after training. Not much of a dress code but the food is really not so bad. Stand in line, order what you want, pay for it, walk into the banquet room- simple, neh?
Tourist Stuff- If you are coming in from far away and want some recommendations of what to do and see, gimme' a call- I know a guy...
Scholarships- I don't want any serious member of the Systema community to miss training, especially top-tier instruction such as Daniil so if you need help... ask. Any money donated comes directly out of my personal pocket but I am commited to doing what I can to help.
I am the point of contact for this seminar. If you have any questions, concerns, special accommodations, need a ride from the airport, you want to volunteer to help, etc.- CALL ME. I know it appears that I'm digitally connected at all times but I work hard not to be. If you need an immediate answer, don't email, FB message, text, SINCGARS or carrier pidgeon- call Patrick McKee (415) 713-4015.
