Dance the Dream is a world flash mob dance taking place in cities, towns, and villages for the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Everyone is invited to join us to celebrate and live the values of brotherhood proclaimed by Dr. King.

The mission of Dance the Dream is to demonstrate the creative dynamism of cultural diversity, to build stronger communities based on mutual understanding and respect, and to inspire and empower the next generation to follow in the foot steps of Martin Luther King, Jr. and change the world. 

Dance the Dream is a featured presentation of THE DREAM@50, which is produced by Richard Karz in partnership with the United Nations (Academic Impact, DPI), UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), YouTube, International Theatre Institute, Global Arts Link, Americans for the Arts, Dance/USA, National Dance Education Organization, National Education Association, National Art Education Association, National Council of Teachers of English, National Council for the Social Studies, Arts Schools Network, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Dance Camera West, and the Dance Films Association.

THE DREAM@50 is a tribute series in 2013/2014 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech. Including a student art contest (K-12), a world flash mob dance, video PSAs, and a feature documentary, THE DREAM@50  is a partnership of Karz Productions with the United Nations (Academic Impact), UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), YouTube, The King Center, Americans for the Arts, Dance/USA, National Dance Education Organization, AAHPERD (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance), United Way, International Theatre Institute, Global Arts Link, Arts Schools Network, National Art Education Association, National Education Association, National Council for the Social Studies, National Council of Teachers of English, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, CBS Outdoor, and public school systems, museums, public libraries, airports, and mass transit systems in ten featured U.S. cities.
