Cyanotypes with Noah Breuer
3 Mondays 12/2-16, 7-10pm$145; $95 for members
Cyanotype is one of the earliest a photographic printing process and yields a beautiful, cyan-blue print from a contact negative.
During the first week of this workshop we'll learn all the basics through a hands-on demonstration, including how to prepare the chemistry, printing paper and stencils using film negatives, drawings or digital files. You will prepare your own printing paper, and during week two, we will spend class time printing and developing your cyanotypes.
When & Where
The Gowanus Studio Space
The Gowanus Studio Space encourages inter-disciplinary exchange and provides affordable access to facilities for artists and designers. Offering exhibition, curation and production opportunities, the studio is an incubator for new ideas and an inroad to today's insular art world.
The GSS' 60+ members rent low-cost studios and storage and have 24-hour access to a woodshop, print studio, metal shop and large common workspace. GSS was established with little funding in industrial Gowanus in 2007.
