Students will make and finish a small cutting board ready for use. Maple, walnut, oak and other salvaged hardwood interior finishes from our warehouse will be resurfaced, prepped, and glued up to form a durable cutting surface. (Type of reclaimed wood is dependant on availability) Students will receive safety overviews and practical instruction on the chop saw, planer, jointer, router table and orbital sander, as well as an introduction to glue-ups and natural, food-safe finishing. Instructor will discuss scraping, sanding, and food-safe oiling options to finish out your board, as well as tips for continuing maintenance.
