Description

CCIF invites you to join us in San Francisco on November 15th for our 5th Annual Kickoff Forum to discuss how the technological evolution of the distribution system is creating customer big data public policy issues that will impact customers, regulators, third-party vendors, and utilities. Issues that will be addressed include:

  • Consumer Privacy and Security Needs
  • Rules Governing Access and Usage by Vendors and Utilities
  • Regulatory Options
  • Role of the Distribution Utility
  • Technology Considerations and Standards

This dialogue will help shape CCIF's work in summits next spring, at which commissioners, consumer advocates, and electric utility representatives will continue the discussion, develop options for consideration by policymakers and regulators, and form consensus where possible.

FAQs

Is there a registration fee?

No, there are no registration fees or other charges to attend the CCIF event, but registration with CCIF is required. Please register by November 7, 2014.

Do I need to bring my printed ticket (received following CCIF event registration) to the forum?

No, the printed ticket is just for your convenience.

When will I receive an agenda and other materials?

The agenda will be made available on the CCIF website and sent to all registrants when complete (in advance of the forum). A name badge and packet including the final agenda, speaker bios, and registrant list will be made available at the forum registration desk upon sign in.

What is the appropriate attire?

While we have no set dress code for CCIF, participants’ attire typically ranges from business casual to business based on preference, weather, travel, etc. Please remember that meeting rooms tend to be cold, and photos may be taken (for CCIF reports, materials, website, etc.).

Please provide more info about the stipends for state commissioners & consumer advocates.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is offering a limited number of 1-night hotel stipends to state commissioners and consumer advocates who participate in the November 15th forum. If eligible, please indicate your interest during the registration process, and your eligibility will be confirmed by separate email. For those stipend recipients staying at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, you'll receive a credit on your final hotel bill for 1 night at the NARUC conference rate of $199 and applicable tax. Please note that this in no way diminishes the need for you to make your own reservations with the hotel for the total number of nights for which you need accommodations. If not staying at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, stipend recipients may be reimbursed for 1 night (anything up to the NARUC conference rate of $199 plus tax) at another hotel with a receipt submitted after the fact.
