The Ybor City Culinaria Experience from May 18-27 takes this opportunity a step further and offers you the chance to actually meet the Chefs at various Ybor restaurants and even participate in a cooking seminar with them! The goal of the 10 day event is to emphasize the history of Ybor City, the many dining opportunities there, and increase foot traffic into and around the district.

Carne ChopHouse recently opened on April 10 on a first floor corner of the Centro Ybor shopping complex on 7th Ave. With Chef Rasheed at the helm, Carne offers a variety of cuts of beef, including prime rib and chopped steak. Seafood, including grouper and trout amandine, is prepared the way owner Jason Fernandez learned at Commander's Palace in New Orleans.
Chef Rasheed, back from a few years in California, previously worked at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino here in Tampa. “Our goal with Carne is to help bring Ybor to the next level. There wasn’t a steakhouse here before we opened and we wanted to reach out and bring in new clients to the area with a reasonably priced menu. I was born and raised in Morocco, and helped build the menu here. I’m very excited about it. We serve top quality, corn fed, certified Angus beef from the Midwest, have fresh Cuban bread every day, offer great service and delicious food. We are on the right track!”
