Seven Lighthouse Cruise

Explore Maine's lighthouses by sea!  Travel the winding Sasanoa River through Hells Gates into the serene Hockomock Bay to the mouth of the Sheepscot River, cruising past Hendricks Head Light.  Cruise the Kennebec River with its six lighthouses.

  • Doubling Point Lighthouse
  • Kennebec Range Lights
  • Squirrel Point Lighthouse
  • Perkins Island Lighthouse
  • Pond Island Lighthouse
  • Seguin Island Lighthouse
  • Hendricks Head Lighthouse

This cruise is 3 hours long and due to tides and currents may run in either direction at the Captain's discretion.  Due to variations in tides and currents, return times may vary by as much as an hour.

The Schoodic's professionally trained crew provides fascinating narration and a safe, comfortable cruise.   Guests are welcome to bring aboard a picnic including beer and wine for personal consumption.  Coolers are not allowed on the boat.

Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of a weather cancellation.  The Schoodic is a covered boat and usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions.  Cruises may be cancelled in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions or unmet minimum ticket sales, and cancellations are made by the Captain on the day of the cruise.  If the Museum cancels a cruise, you will have the opportunity to reschedule, or receive a refund.

The temperature on the water can vary throughout the day.  Please come prepared with extra layers. Access to the boat requires negotiating a ramp down to the float, and then boarding steps into the boat.  We are not able to accommodate wheelchairs.

The experience of Maine from the water is like no other and the Kennebec River delights one and all! Your ticket price includes Museum admission for two consecutive days-come early or return the next day to visit our Museum shipyard and galleries.
