Congress recently passed the most sweeping reforms to private equity laws in over 80 years - the JOBS Act. Congress now allows private equity solicitation methods that were illegal prior to the adoption of the JOBS Act. Once the rules are implemented, the new methods will become essential funding sources for the most savvy of entrepreneurs. This discussion is focused on the specifics of the Crowdfunding and Private Equity Solicitation portions of the JOBS Act.
