Our inaugural mob was at the lovely, and very centrally located Avondale Farm (here is the recap). We had a great time, but as it goes with mobs, we must keep moving. We thought it only fitting that our next scheduled mob (do mobs really schedule?) travel to visit the stars of “Grow,” the new documentary sweeping Georgia. That would be Arianne and Elliot of Hope Grows Farm. In case you haven’t met them at the Forsyth Farmers market, and haven’t visited their website – they are the hot young farmers of the future. It’s only spring, but it’s getting hotter everyday. Arianne and Elliot grow chickens, some of the healthiest, happiest (and tastiest) chickens you will ever meet. They also raise pigs, turkey and lots of produce – but they are famous for their chickens. And they’re hot young farmers. You can be one too.
On Sunday, April 3rd we will bring our Crop Mob to Hope Grows, which is just a little over an hour outside of Savannah. The farm has asked us to cap participation at 35. We are still ironing out a few details but we'll keep you updated on the exact meet-up time and location, what to bring etc. Our expected chores are a bit of planting, a little farm maintenance and maybe even a little construction or painting. And with every mob, expect a little weeding.
