Event Details

CrisisCommons, a volunteer technology community, in collaboration with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation would like to invite non governmental and non profit organizations to participate in roundtable discussion to explore lessons learned from 2010 disasters such as the Haiti and Chile earthquakes and the Gulf Coast Oil Spill, collaboration opportunities and potential challenges with sustainability/engagement with volunteer technology communities.

This event will be held in the 5th Floor Conference Room at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars which is located within the Ronald Reagan Center. Directions to the Center can be found by visiting this page.

To reach the Center by Metro: Take the blue or orange line to "Federal Triangle" station. At the top of the escalator at street level, cross Woodrow Wilson Plaza. Enter in the doors across the plaza. Go through security and take a hard left from security towards the Wilson Center. You will be asked for a photo ID and the Roundtable is on the 5th Floor.

To participate in this roundtable virtually, please visit the Wilson Center On Demand page here (http://wilsoncenter.org/index.cfm?topic_id=1414&fuseaction=topics.event_summary&event_id=626256). The webcast will start promptly at 8:15AM. Join in the conversation on PiratePad here (http://piratepad.net/s5uOjxVZgn) and on Twitter @CrisisCommons

This roundtable will provide an opportunity for nongovernmental organizations and nonprofits to provide input into the development of the CrisisCommons Road Map and Strategic Framework. As one in a series of roundtables on July 15th, comments and discussion will be shared via webcast and will work to inform discussions at the First International CrisisCongress being held the following day at the World Bank.

We look forward to your participation (both in person or virtually) at this event.
