Navigating the many issues people face when they’re in crisis can be challenging. In this training, you will learn how a crisis situation affects us and how to effectively respond to the person in crisis. Crisis intervention is not counseling. Learn how to engage clients through active listening and the use of crisis intervention techniques. We’ll also explore other effective strategies in Crisis Intervention including recognizing potential roadblocks to active listening, identifying our own triggers, and attending to self care.

When & Where
Community Training Program
Crisis Clinic has been a first call for help for those in need of emotional support and social services for nearly 50 years. Today, we are a nationally recognized leader in mental health, crisis intervention, and information and referral services.
This year, we are proud to offer a series of community trainings designed specifically for mental health and social service providers working in King County. Each course is conducted by a caring, skilled professional with years of hands-on experience in their field.
Our hope is that you will walk away with the knowledge and practical skills you need to navigate the system and more effectively help your clients.
