Elizabeth Saunders is an FTI Consulting senior managing director, Americas chairman of the strategic communications segment, and head of the segment’s financial communications practice in the Americas. She has served as senior counsel for business-transformation assignments, activism contests, post-merger communications, CEO transitions and restructurings. Saunders was a co-founder of Ashton Partners (acquired by FTI in 2007) and has been named to the National Association of Corporate Director (NACD) “Directorship 100” and Crain’s Chicago Business “40 Under 40.” She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from DePaul University with a concentration in securities law.
Mark D. Wood
Head of Securities Practice, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP
Mark Wood concentrates in corporate and securities law. He represents public companies, issuers and investment banks in initial public offerings (IPOs) and other public offerings, private investment in public equity (PIPE) transactions, debt securities and complex corporate transactions such as tender offers, mergers and acquisitions. Wood also counsels public companies on securities law compliance, disclosures, corporate governance and compensation-related issues. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and is a certified public accountant. Memberships include the American and Chicago bar associations and the NASDAQ Public Policy Advisory Group.

Career highlights include successfully managing crisis situations including management changes, employee layoffs, corporate lawsuits, proxy fights, activist issues and a cruise ship fire, and the public affairs campaign passing the landmark Arizona Victims’ Bill of Rights, as well as reporting for the Milwaukee Journal and the Phoenix Gazette. Warell holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Arizona State University.
