How to Get to Pontchartrain Landing (6001 France Road):
One can reach it by driving east on Chef Menteur Hwy (US 90) and before going over the Danziger bridge take the side access road that leads to France Rd (turn left on France Rd.) which runs along the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal (IHNC). OR one can drive down Leon C Simon to Press Street (SUNO entrance, take first left on Hayne Street which goes behind the new Wesley Barrow Stadium to France Rd. The Pontchartrain Landing is a new RV park that is apparently pretty nice, sits on the water’s edge and has a restaurant, bar and outdoor pavilion. There is a large parking area.
One can reach it by bicycling too. Take Gentilly Rd from Mid-City; continue east on Gentilly Blvd. at the 5 way intersection and pick up the bike lane. Take the Gentilly bike lane to Press Street (street after the Baptist Seminary); turn left on Press Street and pedal to Hayne Street near the Wesley Barrow Stadium entrance just before the railroad track underpass; turn right and pedal to France Rd.
