Nina Marie Barbuto: Making Learning a Party
Founder and director of Assemble, a community space for arts + technology, Nina Marie Barbuto's own work includes architecture, film, sound, and art installation often with the idea of recycling noise into the system or elevating the vernacular spectacular. Assemble envisions a diverse community that creates, connects, and learns through the experience of art and technology.
Nina is also the co-founder of I Made It! Market, an organization that provides opportunities for artists to sell their wares. An idea based on urban acupuncture, the I Made It! Market partners with community, arts and non-profit organizations to raise funds and awareness to assist in improving their communities. She also is the program manager of the Girls, Math + Science Partnership, an initiative of Carneige Science Center.
This month’s event will be be hosted by the generous folks over at the amazing Andy Warhol Museum on Sandusky Street on the North Side. If you've never made your way to The Warhol, get ready for an awesome experience. The first 50 cars to arrive will park free of charge!
This time around, breakfast will be sponsored by the fabulous folks of Spark, who support the Kids+Creativity Network in Pittsburgh!
CreativeMornings is a monthly morning gathering for creative types.There are chapters around the world, including Los Angeles, New York, Auckland, Zurich, Chicago, and London.
Each event includes a 20 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion. The gathering begins at 8:30am with the topic presentation starting at 9:00am and everyone taking off for work at 10am. CreativeMornings are free of charge!
