Textile Art: Resist Dye Intensive - $48.00
- Performing & Visual Arts
- Fashion Design Center at Bridgeport Arts, Chicago IL
This four day, 12-hour sewing camp is geared towards children of the age from 8-12. Knowing how to sew offers your child a creative way to express him/herself. The learned skill not only develops self-confidence but also problem-solving skills and critical thinking. The class begins with handsewing basics and moves on to machine sewing skills. Every day a very simple project will be explored and finalized. Our classes are taught by professional designers and textile artists. Please provide your child with a snack to bring to camp.
This camp runs from Monday through Thursday from 9:00AM until 12:00PM.

The world around us is changing quickly but our need for communal gatherings in a nurturing and creative setting is not. Urban Threads Studio is a D-I-Y (do it yourself) collaborative studio that hopes to introduce you to the wonderful ancient craft of sewing and textile art with a 21st century twist. You may just want to rediscover a skill you learned as a child, experience the calm energy of a day of crafting or pick up an altogether new or more advanced skill like dyeing or felting. Our program hopes to accomplish all that and much more. Join us in the adventure and: register for a workshop, celebrate a next birthday with a textile art party, sign up the kids for summer camp, ask us about after school programs or enroll your youth organization in our 2013 community project.
