Fulton Brewing Company
2540 2nd St. NE. Minneapolis, MN 55418
Twenty-five years into running one of the top craft breweries in America, Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy looks back with his fellow craft beer comrades to discuss the circumstances and ambitions that allowed a handful of individuals across the country to challenge one of the largest corporate dynasties in American history. Steve's new book Craft Beer Revolution tells the story of hundreds of groundbreaking breweries and how they fundamentally changed humanity's favorite beverage. Steve joins us on The Mash, discussing his book and the beer scenes of each city we visit with the people who helped create it.

Jace Marti (Assistant Brewmaster of Schell Brewing Company) is a 6th generation member of the Schell family. After studying brewing at the VLB in Berlin and training in breweries in Germany and Austria, he returned to Schell's. His work there focuses on brewing both new and traditional German-style lagers and ales, as well as starting up the barrel-aged sour beer program there.
Ryan Petz (President of Fulton Brewery) spends most of his time wishing he was the brewmaster. When he's not doing that, he works on a little bit of everything, ponders the meaning of being "presidential," and somehow always makes time to drink a beer at the end of the day, if not before.
Deb Loch (Co-founder of Urban Growler Brewing Company) left her jobs as a medical engirneer to turn her homebrewing hobby into Minneapolis' newest microbrewery. After completeing the the Master Brewers Program at UC Davis, and working Minocqua Brewing Company and Northern Brewer, Deb founded Urban Growler with her partner, Jill Pavlak, in 2013.
Joseph Alton (Creative Director of Growler Magazine) between working at Growler Magazine, a three-year-old beer magazine in print and online, and project directing at The Beer Dabbler, Joseph Alton has his finger on the pulse of craft beer in the Twin Cities and beyond.
The $6 ticket price includes a complimentary beer. All four breweries will be pouring their own beer that they're most excited about now. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Slow Food.
"Craft Beer Revolution" Reviews
“The craft beer revolution, the most exciting development in the beer industry since the birth of lager beer in the 19th Century, now has its chronicler. Steve Hindy tells the story as only a skilled journalist and an important player in the revolution could tell it. For decades going forward, this will be an important book for those who want to understand this transformative business story.” - Daniel Bradford, Publisher, All About Beer magazine
“Steve’s position in the craft industry puts him in a unique position—he both grew alongside it as an owner of Brooklyn Brewery and helped steer its course as an active Brewers Association member. He very accurately depicts the craft revolution’s highs and lows and the camaraderie, challenging to maintain at times, that underlies it all.” - Ken Grossman, Co-founder and CEO, Sierra Nevada
“Balance. It's a desired trait in the brewing world. That perfectly comforting zone created through the interplay of hops and barley. Steve Hindy has found the equivalent space as a beer-journalist-slash-brewing-pioneer in his book The Craft Beer Revolution. Combining entertaining doses of craft brewing history with approachable descriptions of the brewers art and the fearless exploration of these entrepreneurs who changed the face of American brewing. A delicious and session-able read.” - Sam Calagione, Founder & President, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
