Do you want to take your making to the next level? This is a great opportunity to learn what other resources are available and to connect to the larger Chicagoland maker community.
Join us for a tour of Southside Hackerspace, a two-year old up-and-coming hackerspace in the Pilsen neighborhood. Learn about what goes in to creating such a space, available tools and membership options. Hackerspace members will teach the basics of electronics and soldering, and participants will get hands-on experience creating Wee Blinky's--an LED lights array—to take home. Learn about membership options and what equipment and tools you'll have access to at SSH.
Transportation will be provided from the Harold Washington Library Center to the Southside Hackerspace. Meet at HWLC on the Plymouth Court side at 1:15 p.m.--the bus will leave promptly at 1:30 p.m.. Return bus will leave the Hackerspace at 4:30 p.m. and drop us off at 5 p.m. at HWLC, on Plymouth Court (please note: the library will be closed when we return).
Space is limited. Registration is required. The Southside Hackerspace requires all participants to sign a waiver before entering the space.
