Country Lifeguards of the California Coast
Among the “World’s Best Job’s,” the California’s Ocean Lifeguard quietly, yet dramatically serves their fellow man along idyllic beaches, that lure swimmers by the millions into potentially dangerous waters, with waves that shimmer and beckon invitingly under a hot summer sun.
Fit, strong of body and mind, a competent swimmer, excellent observer of human behaviors, trained rescuer and responder, the lifeguard is an unsung hero that leaps to action with a bolt of adrenaline, and smiles with the rewarding joy of truly saving a life!
Join Steve Long and Mike Brousard, both legendary retired California State Lifeguard Chiefs for an evening of story weaving, as they blend the lore of “Black Sunday,” “Storm of ’69- Medal of Valor,” Ironmen and Ironwomen, Bohemian Summers, and legendary swells and storms, with the exhilaration of life on the beach and a profession that is a daily celebration of that life
