Description

Join us this Friday from 6-8PM to try out Cosmos! We've been hard at work at some particularly cool new features this week and would love to hear the community's thoughts about what's good and what's not. At Cosmos Early Access Parties, you are the designer of Cosmos!

Cosmos is currently in private preview, which means we're only showing it to close friends and family. This is an exclusive opportunity to see what we've been working on and give us feedback and suggestions for what we should do next!

Schedule

6:00 Introductions: What is Cosmos and what's new.
6:15-6:30 Noobie-friendly play
6:30-7:00 ALL OUT WAR
7:00 Brainstorming. This is your chance to help us decide the direction of the game!
8:00 Wrap-up

Can't make it in person?

Not a problem! You can still participate in the early access party by logging onto the Cosmos Private Preview between 6pm and 8pm on Friday. As always, please post your feedback, comments, ideas, and suggestions on our UserVoice or send us an email at team@teamleonine.com.

About Cosmos

Watch the Video

Cosmos is a real-time massively multiplayer online game where players can build a space empire entirely in their browsers. Players will be able to explore, fight, craft, build, and trade with their friends in an infinite online universe.

In Cosmos, everything is made out of blocks that players can interact, craft, and build with. This includes players' ships, the parts on their ships, space stations, and even planets and asteroids! Players compete for resources to collect basic blocks which they can craft into bigger and more advanced blocks like faster engines, stronger armor, and powerful weapons. Players will even be able to craft blocks into massive space stations which can become trading hubs, supply depots, or defense posts for nearby territory.

Experimentation is key in Cosmos. Players can add engines and other components to their ships in any way that they would like, but doing so in an unbalanced manner may prevent ships from flying in a straight line. When crafting, players can discover new and unique recipes for awesome and powerful blocks by trying different things! It also pays to explore in Cosmos: there are undiscovered treasures to be found in the far reaches of space like abandoned space stations and rare resources.

In most massively multiplayer online games, repetitive tasks quickly become tedious and boring. Cosmos will avoid this problem by building automation directly into the game. Players can automate their ships using a simple and intuitive block-based programming interface to make ships mine, defend, explore, and more. Automation allows players to continue running their galactic empires while they are off exploring the galaxy or even while they are away from their computers! Players will even be able to sell their automation programs to other players, creating competitive markets for the most effective of efficient programs.

Cosmos is built entirely using HTML5 and JavaScript, so its rich universe is available directly in your web browser without any downloads. Players can simply send a link to their friends and play together with them in a matter of seconds!
