Designing and populating a website is a great way to promote a business or cause, but can raise a lot of intellectual property issues. Can you use images that you find on the internet? Can you upload music clips from your library? Can you post articles that would be of interest to your visitors?
Join us for a fun workshop on copyright, trademark and related IP issues that arise in connection with web design and business development. We’ll discuss how to protect you from claims of infringement, and how to develop equity in your own brands and content.
ABOUT THE INSTUCTOR
The workshop will be led by Stacy Grossman. Stacy recently launched her own IP firm, so is an entrepreneur herself. She represents individuals and businesses in connection with IP, publishing, media and general business matters. For the past eight years, Stacy was VP and Associate General Counsel for intellectual property at News Corporation, where she advised The New York Post, HarperCollins, Amplify Education and other businesses on IP, internet and media issues. Before News Corp, she was a principal at Fish & Richardson where she litigated trademark, copyright and trade secret cases.
