How CNN Engages with Visual Social Content "Get It Online" Lunch Discussion
- National Press Club, Washington DC
The Women Photojournalists of Washington (WPOW) and the National Press Club's Photography Committee invite you to attend an event on “Copyright and Social Media" from 6:30-8:30pm on Tuesday April 29 in the First Amendment Lounge of the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA).
How can photographers protect the millions of images and recordings produced every day and posted on traditional websites and social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram? As millions of those images and videos get uploaded, viewed and shared, the importance of understanding and protecting intellectual property rights is more important than ever. This program will discuss copyright issues and some of the latest cases as well as the terms of service for social media.
The National Press Club, a private club for journalists and communications professionals, has been a Washington institution for more than a century. It is also a world-class conference and meeting facility that hosts thousands of events each year for sophisticated clients from around the globe. And while these are the Club’s functions, its mission is to be The World’s Leading Professional Organization for Journalists. It is a social and business organization dedicated to supporting the ongoing improvement of the profession of journalism.
