MUSICIANS ARE ATHLETES: THE MENTAL GAME
Led by Stacey Kim, LCSW and Aubrette Kinne, MA, Doctoral Candidate, Sport Psychology
Saturday April 12, 2-5pm in the Neal Marshall Grand Hall
This workshop is intended to help address some of the major mental hurdles of the performing musician's life. We'll explore current understanding of the attributes of elite athletes and how they are relevant to the performing musician. Topics will include developing resilience, building internal confidence, managing feedback and developing an internal encouraging voice. Stacey Kim is a licensed clinical social worker who has more than two decades of experience working in classical music administration. Aubrette Kinne is a doctoral candidate in IU's Counseling Psychological program specializing in sport psychology.
