This one-day seminar is a pre-requisite for becoming an apprentice to the COOC Taste Panel. Led by Taste Panel leaders Nancy Ash and Arden Kremer, you will be guided through the basics of sensory assessment and participate in several aroma and tasting exercises. Selection to the Apprentice Program will be based upon your performance throughout this session. No previous tasting experience is required. (Note that certificates are not awarded for attending this one-day seminar.)
The Assessment Training will begin promptly at 9:30 AM and there will be a 1 1/2 hour break for lunch, which will not be provided. The session will conclude at 4:30 PM. All participants must attend for the entire session.
Those accepted into the COOC Apprentice Program will be required to attend additional mandatory training sessions (at no additional cost):

All above sessions will be held at the COOC office (801 Camelia St. Suite D, Berkeley) from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Note that the COOC Taste Panel meets on Thursdays from 10AM to Noon; for consideration as an apprentice you must be able to regularly attend future sessions. Apprentices are in training for at least one year before being considered for promotion to Taste Panel Member status.
Participation is limited to 16. No refunds after August 31.
