Introduction to Sensory Assessment - For Potential Taste Panel Apprentices
This one-day seminar is a pre-requisite for becoming an apprentice to the COOC Taste Panel. Led by Taste Panel leaders Nancy Ash and Arden Kremer, you will be guided through the basics of sensory assessment and participate in several aroma and tasting exercises. You will be contacted by the end of October if you have been accepted into the apprentice program. (Note that certificates are not awarded for attending this one-day seminar.)
Attendence is limited to 16 participants.
IMPORTANT: No food or beverages may be brought into the classroom; water will be provided. Do not use/wear scented products, including perfume and cologne, body lotion or spray, or scented soaps and hair products. The $125 cost does not include lunch. Although there is a cost for this introductory seminar, there are no additional training costs once you are accepted into the apprentice program.
Note that the COOC Taste Panel meets regulary on Thursdays from 10AM to Noon; for consideration as an apprentice you must be able to attend Taste Panel sessions schedule for this time. Apprentices are in training for at least one year before being considered for promotion to Taste Panel Member Status.
