Conversations & Cocktails: Locust Projects
Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EDT)
MOCA invites Shakers to visit Miami's Locust Projects, a non profit exhibition space located in the Wynwood Arts District. Miami-based artists, Christy Gast and Felice Grodin, will guide MOCA members through the space and introduce their work. Gast will lead members through her exhibition, Inholdings, which shifts the focus between natural, cultural and desired histories by appropriating craft traditions to document a place. After, Grodin, a trained architect, will talk about her installation, A Fabricated Field, which situates the artist's practice within the realm of geophilosophy—a field of thought that considers the formations between territories.
A cocktail reception will follow the tour.
