Converging on Music + Tech
Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, United States
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Who doesn't like music? Pair it with tech and things get even more interesting.
If you like both, then you really need to come along to the next event!
We'll kick things off with DJ Brent Northey who will be showing off some cool mixing apps as he plays some great tunes.
Next up is Michael Mitchell, New Zealand native and product designer for DJ Tech Tools. DJTT is a small San Francisco based company which blogs about cutting-edge DJ technology and develops boutique hardware for DJ's and electronic performers alike. Michael's talk will cover the evolution of DJ Tech Tools, the intersection of DJing and technology in the past 10 years, as well as the development of the Midi Fighter from a weekend project to its many current iterations. To close this segment of the evening, there will be a short 5 - 10 minute performance by Michael's colleague and finger drumming extraordinaire, Mad Zach.
*Just added: CHIPMUSIC has hit the mainstream in movies like Scott Pilgrim, but where did it come from & how is it made? STARPAUSE will fill you in, perform a live tracking demo & provide a zine pointing to more 8BIT software and sounds.
Doors will open for music, mingling, drinks and pizza at 7pm sharp.
While tickets are available via Eventbrite, you can also RSVP via our Meetup Event Page. PLEASE only RSVP if you can definitely make it. Thank you.
