Contribute Web Development for Librarians/Literacy staff/volunteers, Part 1

Does your library need a website but you can’t afford the time and expense of learning complicated web-authoring software? If so, this class is for you!

In Part 1, you’ll learn the basics of Contribute, a stand-alone editor for the revision of narratives and graphics in a web site that is used via a web browser. In Part 2, OK Dept of Libraries will provide your chosen template and you will be able to put the finishing touches on your web site. At the end of the day, you should have a complete, basic website ready to go live. Parts 1 and 2 classes are scheduled on 2 consecutive days. Melissa Askew, an ODL consultant and Contribute pro, will teach the class.

Class enrollment by invitation only. If you have not been invited but your library or literacy organization needs a website, please contact Melissa Askew, maskew@oltn.odl.state.ok.us

Students need to enroll in both parts 1 & 2, November 29 & 30.

If your library or literacy organization is >60 miles away from ODL, a travel stipend of $115/night for overnight stay may be available.  Mileage also may be reimbursed at 30 cents/mile if you are paying for your own gas & cannot collect from your library/literacy organization.  Stipend contracts will be made out to the library/literacy organization and it will be your responsibility to collect your reimbursement from such organization.  No contracts will be written until the class has been attended and proof of overnight stay (if applicable) has been shown to the Office of Library Development.
