Something very exciting happened at the end of last year: In partnership with A Book Apart, the amazing Karen McGrane released her book Content Strategy for Mobile. Long before the book went to press we were dreaming of a night when we would discuss the great ideas in this book with all of our content friends (ahem, that's you).
And, lucky for us, the time has come for our first book club! Over the next few weeks, we'll devour our copies of Karen's book, and then we'll come together to share what we learned, what impressed us, and what down-right confused us.
After chatting about the book, we'll head out to one of the neighborhood bars for a nightcap.
Content Strategy for Mobile by Karen McGrane
"Karen McGrane will teach you everything you need to get your content onto mobile devices (and more). You'll first gather data to help you make the case for a mobile strategy, then learn how to publish flexibly to multiple channels. Along the way, you'll get valuable advice on adapting your workflow to a world of emerging devices, platforms, screen sizes, and resolutions." - Paul Ford

About RVA Content Strategy
For years we've been trying to find our place in other networking groups in RVA. We've tried snuggling up with web designers and squeezing in with social media junkies. While they are nice folks, we don't get to talk about content nearly as much as we want.
You know, like 24/7.
Join us in building the knowledge base of Content Strategy in RVA by sharing and learning together. We will share our real-life experiences, discuss books and articles about content strategy, and talk about content until the cows come home.
This event is open to content strategists and Friends of Content Strategy (FOCS). You may meet content specialists, writers, designers, developers, information architects, account stakeholders, and social media advocates. Agency folks, corporate professionals, and freelancers are all welcome.
