Many times it seems like the goal is to deprive yourself of certain foods to “get over” food cravings. The exact opposite is really the case. The goal is to eat freely, but to eat whole unprocessed plants foods that are micronutrient dense and that have a low glycemic index. That could be berries or apples; or lentils, beans and peas; or foods like yams, sweet potatoes or squash; or simply beans and greens. Actually just about any colorful plant food in its whole unprocessed state will provide a stable blood sugar and lots of disease fighting and “Detox” enhancing phytochemicals that will help quelch cravings. Once you get through the first 2-3 days of this kind of diet shift where you are eating these nutrients dense plant foods as the norm you will experience true hunger, not eating because you want to get rid of stressful Detoxing symptoms. Kirk will whip together and sweet potato white bean dip; a berry rich fruit & nut salad; and a tofu, black bean and greens stir fry. You will also receive a copy of Kirk’s book “Staying Healthy in the Fast Lane” whose theme is the prevention and reversal of age-related (chronic) diseases, such as diabetes, by the use of a low allergy, anti-inflammatory, unprocessed plant-based diets.
