Connecting Research to Practice: Understanding Infant Brain Development

Jan Callison, Hennepin County Commissioner and Ed Goetz, Director of Center for Urban and Regional Affairs at the University of Minnesota would like to invite you to this upcoming event.
The Hennepin-University Partnership, in collaboration with the Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department and the Hennepin County Library, are hosting a half-day event on the topic of infant brain development. The purpose of the event is to engage County staff in a discussion of recent research on infant brain development that is pertinent to their work with families and children.
The event will include presentations from University of Minnesota researchers, Megan Gunnar, Director of the Institute on Child Development and Regents Professor, and Ann Masten, Irving B. Harris Professor of Child Psychology and the Director of Project Competence. In addition to presentations, County staff will engage in facilitated conversations with each other and University staff to explore how research findings can be applied to their work. There will also be a practitioner and policy panel, followed by open discussion.
Registration from 7:45am-8:00am. Coffee and rolls will be provided in the morning and a networking lunch will follow the last presentation.
Space is limited, so please register early to guarantee a spot.

Walking from Hennepin County Government Center:
Walk down 4th Ave South towards 12 Street South. The church is on the corner of 4th Ave South and 12th Street South.
Driving from 94 Westbound:
Take the 11th Street exit, slight left onto 11th Street. Turn left on 3rd Ave South. Turn left onto 12 Street South. The church will be on the right side.
Driving from 94 Eastbound:
Take the Lyndale Ave/Hennepin Ave exit. Merge onto West Lyndale Ave North. Turn left onto Dunwoody Boulevard. Continue onto Hennepin Ave. Turn right onto 12th Street South. The church will be on the right.
