Many people are reluctant to talk about population growth. Yet the world is expected to reach at least 9 billion people by the middle of the century, and many scientists say we’re pushing the ecosystem into a state where it can no longer support civilization. By breathing, eating and consuming, an individual human being produces tons of carbon every year, and population control may be the key to curbing greenhouse gas emissions. Can population control be part of the climate conversation, or would it create a toxic brew of two radioactive political issues? Join us for a conversation about creating a climate of change around global overpopulation.
