with The David Berkowitz Quintet
Monday, October 26, 2015 ~ 7 pm
Style: Rockabilly/Country-Punk
Admission: Free
Hometown: Jerome, Arizona
Nathan Payne & the Wild Bores is an all-original 4-piece rockabilly band from Jerome, Arizona, consisting of former decker. bassist Brett L. Graham, Gabe Rhodes on drums, singer/multi-instrumentalist Tara Lynn Walrus, and Payne himself, who sings & writes most of the material. They are currently touring in support of their new EP Rural Mortis.
Wild, enigmatic, and raw, Nathan Payne & the Wild Bores put on a show that can’t be beat.
“It’s the dark, psychedelic side of rockabilly found more in films like Six String Samurai, Johnny Suede, or Mystery Train than playing on the stereo at a car show. Payne’s discography sounds like a lo-fi Nick Cave/Tom Waits team-up.” Rogue Valley Messenger
“One of our most gifted songwriters today.” Amethyst Arsenic
“Payne brings joy with songs that range from creepy one man band slop to intense Tom Waits-esque theatrical epics.” Roctober
“A specialist in morbid poetics.” L.A. Weekly
“The single best lyricist in Central Texas right now.” Big Western Flavor
“Pure lunatic joy.” Hellhound Howl, CJAM 99.1FM Detroit/Windsor
The show begins at 7 PM. Admission is free.
The David Berkowitz Quintet, from Alpine, Texas, will kick off the night!
